SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- A fisherman off the San Clemente pier was in for quite a surprise when his line caught a great white shark. The rare sight was captured on cellphone video.
The footage shows the shark struggling to get free from the fisherman's line with a hook lodged in its mouth, its head out of water and its mouth open.
The shark managed to break the line with a quick snap of its head and it swam away after about 15 minutes.
Experts say it would have been virtually impossible to haul the shark in.
