Woman armed with stick attempts to rob San Pedro bank

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman armed with a stick attempted to rob a bank in San Pedro Monday morning, police said.

The incident was reported at a Bank of America near W. 9th Street and S. Pacific Avenue at about 9 a.m.

The female suspect, who claimed to have a gun, threatened customers and employees inside the bank. It was unclear if she fled the scene with money.

Witnesses followed the suspect and alerted police, who then took her into custody a few blocks away.
