Woman killed in South Los Angeles hit-and-run
A search is underway for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in South Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A search is underway for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in South Los Angeles early Sunday morning.

Police say a woman was walking near West Slauson and Denker avenues just after 2:30 a.m. when she was struck by a vehicle, possibly a gray or tan Toyota or Honda. Officers recovered a damaged Volkswagen hubcap that may be connected to the collision.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not immediately known if the woman was walking inside a crosswalk.

Friends and family identified her as Treva Arnold, 39, who was a mother of two. They said she was walking home when she was hit.

The suspect was last seen driving eastbound on Slauson Avenue.

Anyone with information was asked to call police.
