CORONA, Calif. (KABC) -- A Muslim Corona woman is getting wide attention after firing back at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Facebook, who said Muslims should be required to carry special ID cards.

Marwa Balker, 22, called out Trump after he showed support for a database that tracks Muslims in America.

"Hijacking my Islam and ruining people's perspective on who we are," said Balker. "We are still Americans, and I feel like if he's running to be the leader of our nation, he shouldn't be alienating us."

Balkar posted the letter with a photo of herself wearing a shirt with a peace sign on it, and said if Trump wants her to wear an ID badge, this is the symbol she would wear.

"My Islam is peace, it's not the one that's consistently portrayed on television. It is the one that I know," she said.

The post quickly went viral as it received more than 395,000 likes and more than 1,000 comments of support. It was also shared over 130,000 times.

"There are really no words to put into how it feels to get the support, to get messages from all over the world, not just America," said Balker.

She said young Muslim-Americans reached out to her giving thanks and shared their stories.

Balker said she hopes the post changes how some view Muslims.

"Maybe then you'll see that me being Muslim doesn't make me less of an American then you are," she added. "Maybe if you walk in my footsteps, you can see I'm not any less human than you are."

Balk said Trump has not responded to the post.
