Sikh community celebrates Baisakhi in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Sikh community of California celebrated Baisakhi at the Los Angeles Convention Center Sunday. Each year, the event attracts thousands of people.

It dates back to 1699 in Punjab, India and coincides with the festival of the first spring harvest. In Sikh tradition, it's a time of renewal and rekindling of spirit.

Sikhs are guided by the principles of faith in one God, working hard and sharing with others.
