SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Santa Ana Police are asking for more witnesses to come forward after two men attacked a man with a hammer and skateboard.

The Tuesday evening assault was caught on cellphone video by a witness. Investigators said they've arrested the two men seen in the video.

It shows one man striking the victim in the head with a hammer, knocking him out. The other man then begins beating the unconscious victim in the face and head with a skateboard.

The beating victim, a Santa Ana man in his 30s, is in critical condition.

"He has multiple skull fractures, a broken jaw, he's lost one of his eyes," Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. "This was a brutal beating by the two suspects."

Police arrested 19-year-old Adrian Hernandez and 23-year-old Anthony Rodriguez, both of Santa Ana. They face attempted murder charges.

Investigators urge anyone with information to call Orange County Crime Stoppers at (855) TIP-OCCS.
