'Eye on L.A.': L.A. rocks
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One thing we've learned about Los Angeles is that when it comes to music, this town rocks! We started out at The Grammy Museum at downtown's L.A. Live, and then uncovered a rock 'n' roll mystery, got the inside scoop on L.A.'s most legendary music venues and even hung out with L.A.'s house band Ozomatli and music star Christina Perri.
For over 50 years, the legendary Sunset Strip has been a hub for L.A.'s rock scene and a haven for musicians. From the Whisky a Go-Go and The Roxy, to the iconic Rainbow Bar & Grill, the Sunset Strip is in itself an L.A. icon.
SUNSET STRIP VENUES
The Whisky a Go-Go has helped launched careers of some of rock's biggest bands including The Doors, who began as the house band. Another iconic venue on the strip, the Roxy, is known for the great sound and classic rock 'n' roll atmosphere.
RAINBOW BAR & GRILL
Looking to dine with legendary rock stars? The iconic Rainbow Bar & Grill has been a hotspot for stars from Elvis to Ozzy, Madonna and Bon Jovi for 42 years. Make sure to order a classic like their pizza or mother's chicken soup.
PAUL'S HEAD
In the 1960s it was not uncommon to see billboards of the Beatles in Los Angeles. However, it was strange when one billboard was suddenly missing Paul McCartney's head! Robert Landua, artist of the billboard, noticed the head was missing in 1969. It was a mystery for 40 years until Vintage Los Angeles, along with our very own Tina Malave, found the local man with Paul's head!

From places like the historic Capitol Records building to the red carpet, Hollywood is the city of the stars. And home to those who dress the stars like Soyan An, a sought-after stylist and costume designer.
CAPITOL RECORDS
Did you know that every night the iconic Capitol Records building sends out a secret message? The light at the top of the tower has been blinking out a single word in Morse code since 1956... what would that word be? Hollywood!

With two Emmys for her costume designs on "So You Think You Can Dance?" and dressing "American Idol" stars like Jordin Sparks and Adam Lambert, to pop icons like Usher, Soyon An is one of music's most sought-after designers and stylists. Her current projects include Pink's "Truth About Love" tour and Carrie Underwood's "Play On" tour.
The best concert venues in town include the Hollywood Bowl and the House of Blues on Sunset. Tina sat down with singer-songwriter Christina Perri to hear her L.A. fairytale.
HOLLYWOOD BOWL
The Hollywood Bowl is a county park and is open to the public every day from dawn to sunset for free. You can exercise, have a picnic with a view of the Hollywood sign, or you can check out the Bowl Museum, which is also free!
SUNSET HOUSE OF BLUES
Since opening its doors 20 year ago, the House of Blues has been a West Hollywood hotspot for major music stars. From the outside tin exterior (said to be from a warehouse where Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil for his music career) to the beautiful folk art inside the Foundation Room, the House of Blues on Sunset is one of the most intimate concert venues anywhere, featuring everything from the popular Sunday brunch to concerts by some of the biggest names in music.

CHRISTINA PERRI
Breakthrough singer-songwriter Christina Perri got her start with her pop hit "Jar of Hearts," which was first featured on "So You Think You Can Dance?" Since then, she says she's been living a dream. She went on to release her four-time platinum song "A Thousand Years" on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" soundtracks.
