HOLLYWOOD HILLS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Residents and wildlife advocates have just launched their "Let's Buy a Mountain" campaign to keep 17 acres in the Hollywood Hills out of the hands of developers.
The residents have 18 months to come up with $1.6 million to purchase and keep the land, located in Laurel Canyon between Lookout Mountain Avenue and Stanley Hills Drive.
If the purchase goes through, advocates said they would turn the land over to the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, an agency dedicated to preservation and wildlife.
