After 50 years, Hunter Hobby caboose might leave the park
The old red train caboose in Riverside's Hunter Hobby Park might be sold for scrap if there is not enough money for restorations.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) -- The old red train caboose in Riverside's Hunter Hobby Park has marked the northwest corner of the park for more than 50 years. Now it's falling apart and in dire need of repairs.

A complete restoration could cost as much as $100,000, which the city of Riverside cannot afford. Unless donors come forward to save the old train car, it might be destined for the junk yard.
