ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Mike Trout has become a larger-than-life ballplayer and now has a bobblehead doll befitting his status.

The Los Angeles Angels unveiled a "life-size" bobblehead doll of Trout at Angel Stadium on Friday. The 6-foot-2 doll stands on a base, making him slightly taller than Trout, the reigning American League MVP and two-time All-Star Game MVP.

Trout was impressed by the doll when he pulled off a black curtain to unveil it before Friday night's 4-2 loss to the Texas Rangers.

He reached up and pulled down on the bill of the doll's cap to make sure the head really bobbled.

The Angels had the doll built in China when they noticed their fans' passion for taking photos with a tall Mickey Mouse statue outside Angel Stadium. They figure the Trout bobblehead will be even more popular.

In the bottom of the fourth, Trout hit his 29th home run, pulling even withAlbert Pujolsatop the AL homers race.He also had a run-scoring single in the eighth for the Angels (54-42).

Josh Hamilton doubled, singled and scored two runs in his return to Angel Stadium, and Texas got seven-plus outstanding innings of four-hit ball from Colby Lewis in the win.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
