ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Winnipeg Jets center Mathieu Perreault and Anaheim Ducks defenseman James Wisniewski both sat out their clubs' first-round series opener Thursday night, which the Ducks won 4-2.
Perreault missed the Jets' regular-season finale with a lower-body injury, and he didn't participate in the pregame skate. He scored 41 points this season.
Perreault joined Winnipeg as a free agent last summer after revitalizing his career with the Ducks in the 2013-14 season.
Wisniewski was a healthy scratch for the Pacific Division champion Ducks, who stuck with Clayton Stoner, Sami Vatanen and Simon Despres instead.
Anaheim reacquired Wisniewski from Columbus at the trade deadline to bolster their blue line, but the veteran is a minus-3 with no goals and four assists in 13 games.
The Ducks also scratched forwards Tomas Fleischmann and Jiri Sekac.
