Five-star guardMustapha Heronhas committed to Auburn, sources told ESPN.

Heron chose the Tigers over the likes of Mississippi State, Marquette, Alabama, SMU and St. John's. He was on a visit to the Auburn campus this weekend.

The strong 6-foot-5 perimeter player is ranked No. 26 in the ESPN 100 for the 2016 class. Heron was once committed to Pittsburgh, but decommitted in April.

Heron told ESPN.com last week that he had set a visit to Mississippi State and wanted to check out all five of his schools before making a possible decision in November. His visit this weekend to Auburn clearly changed that line of thinking.

"Coach [Bruce] Pearl told me that [in] 20 of his last 22 years his 2-guards have led his team in scoring," Heron told ESPN.com last week. "So he said I would get a chance to just be comfortable out there and play my game, have the ball in my hands, be able to make decisions and make my teammates around me better."

Heron joins four-star guard Jared Harper and athletic forward Anfernee McLemore in Auburn's 2016 class. Heron is Auburn's third ESPN 100 commitment since Pearl took over after the 2013-14 season, with Horace Spencer and Danjel Purifoy leading the Tigers' 2015 class.
