USC athletic director Pat Haden treated after taking knee on sideline

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- USCathletic director Pat Haden required medical attention on the sideline prior to the Trojans' game against No. 14Notre Dameafter feeling light-headed, but was in stable condition and on his way back to Los Angeles, USC officials said.

Haden dropped to a knee and was taken to the USC locker room for further evaluation. He was stable and sitting up.

"He's OK," USC spokesman Paul Goldberg said.

"During pregame Pat said he felt light-headed, took a knee and then he went into the locker room and is being looked at by our doctors," Tim Tessalone, USC's sports information director, said. Tessalone also said Haden might return to the sideline.

Haden stopped at a local hospital, checked out fine and flew home early on a private plane, Tessalone said.

The athletic director tweeted Sunday that he was feeling fine.

Notre Dame rebounded after blowing a two-touchdown lead for a 41-31 win.

In August 2014, Haden, one of 13 members of the College Football Playoff selection committee,was hospitalized twice in one weekend prior to the start of the season, but he told CFP executive director Bill Hancock he was OK.

Haden spent 12 years as a color analyst on Notre Dame television broadcasts.
