Los Angeles Lakers president Magic Johnson is focused on rookie Lonzo Ball's abilities on the court, not the off-court antics of his father, LaVar, or the amount of attention the Ball family receives.
"Only time I am going to concern myself with what [Lonzo] does off the court is if it is affecting his play on the court," Johnson saidat Monday's Lakers media day.
Lonzo, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's NBA draft, has generated excitement in Los Angeles as the Lakers work toward turning themselves back into a contender. The 19-year-old acknowledged that he's likely to be a target this season, given all the attention surrounding him, his father, the family's Big Baller Brand and their Facebook reality show, "Ball in the Family."
