iPhone 6 problems: iOS 8 update, phone bends
Problems with the iPhone 6 are already arising less than a week after its highly anticipated debut.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Problems with the iPhone 6 are already arising less than a week after its highly anticipated debut.

Apple released on Wednesday an update to its iOS 8 operating system, meant to fix some bugs. Instead, the update only created more.

"We are actively investigating these reports and will provide information as quickly as we can. In the meantime, we have pulled back the iOS 8.0.1 update," Apple said in a statement.

There are also widespread reports that the iPhone 6 isn't connecting with bluetooth systems in several cars, and a hoax going around online that you can charge the new iPhone in a microwave.

The LAPD tweeted: "This wave capability is a #hoax. Don't be fooled into microwaving your #iPhone6."

The LAPD tweets about a hoax about charging your iPhone in the micorwave on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014.

The hoax claims Apple's most recent software, iOS8, has a new feature called "Wave," which can be used to instantly charge your phone by nuking it for 60 seconds at 700W or 70 seconds at 800W.

The fake ad does warn that you shouldn't charge your phone in the microwave for more than 300 seconds, but even that is well past the point where your phone would be destroyed.

Harry Terakopyan fixes phones for a living and says microwaving can cause circuit shorts, fry inner components and melt the battery if it stays in the microwave long enough.

On YouTube, user Unbox Therapy investigated reports that the iPhone 6 Plus can easily bend. He found a weak point near the button cut outs, where the phone can bend if enough pressure is applied. He found that with the same amount of force, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will not bend.

Despite all the issues, people like Charles McAfee are waiting in line more than three hours to get an iPhone 6.

"I'm a disciple of this company. I think everything they do is great. They have some problems, yes. But who doesn't?" he said.

Sales of the iPhone 6 hit more than 10 million over the weekend. Apple's stock was down less than 1 percent Wednesday.
