PERRIS, Calif. (KABC) -- One person was killed after an 18-wheeler semi-truck crashed into a smaller vehicle early Friday morning in Perris, leaking gallons of fuel and sparking a fire.

The collision was reported shortly before 5 a.m. at Mockingbird Canyon Road and El Sobrante Road. When firefighters arrived, the semi-truck was engulfed in flames.

About 40 to 50 gallons of fuel was leaked, fire officials said.
