NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles County transportation officials were hosting a grand opening on Monday for a new pedestrian tunnel in North Hollywood.
The tunnel will make it easier for passengers to connect between the Metro Orange and Red lines. It will join the mezzanine of the Red Line station with the plaza of the Metro Orange Line station.
Pedestrian will no longer have to cross the busy intersection of Lankershim Boulevard near Chandler Boulevard, and the project will also shave four to five minutes from station transfers, according to Metro officials.
The 150-foot tunnel took two years to build and cost a total of $22 million.
