LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Plane takeoffs and landings at the Los Angeles International Airport have a far reaching affect on pollution levels in the area, more dangerous than previously believed, a new study released by the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine asserts.
Researchers found high amounts of ultrafine particles in the areas around LAX. Plane landings are the primary culprit for this, as flights go over a large section of the city and winds push the exhaust inland.
