Burlington, NJ -- John Polito got his start in antique dealing in 1971. Twenty years into the business he met Joe Csik and together they started Obnoxious Antiques.
The pair moved from dealing small antiques to the sourcing the 'big and fun stuff.
"We were moving a giant footon a trailer" explains, Joe. "We were trying to figure out what to name the business and with foot that big, it had to be Obnoxious."
The pair gravitate to defunct amusement rides and carnival games, and it's their knack for the unusual and large that has caught the eye of the movie industry.
"Fifteen years ago, HBO contacted us about Boardwalk Empire. So, we started with HBO. Then we moved into Netflix, and then we did Paramount and Disney," says John. "We just finished up with Bruce Springsteen's movie and now we're working with Spielberg on a movie."
Many of the items used in the movies have been rented as props but everything is for sale. The pair make quite the duo with John cutting the deals and Joe figuring out the logistics of how to move the items across the county.
"When I hooked up with John and we started doing business deals together, it just took off," explains Joe. "We were like splick and splack."
