LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A combination of Santa Ana winds, low humidity and warmer temperatures is bringing increased fire danger to a large swath of Southern California.
The three factors have prompted a red flag warning through 6 p.m. Wednesday for much of Ventura County and parts of Los Angeles County such as the Santa Clarita Valley, Calabasas, western San Fernando Valley and the Malibu coast - which is still recovering from the Franklin Fire.
Santa Ana winds will peak overnight and into the morning, with wind gusts ranging between 20 and 60 mph. In addition, temperatures will be warm and the National Weather Service expects humidity levels between 10% and 20%.
Utilities could cut power to homes to prevent electrical equipment from sparking brush fires.
