SoCal to see scorching temps Saturday before cooler weather arrives

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California is expected to see one more day of scorching temperatures Saturday before cooler conditions arrive across the region.

A heat advisory will be in effect Saturday for a large part of Los Angeles County, while inland areas of Orange County and many parts of the Inland Empire will remain under an extreme heat warning through 8 p.m. Saturday. Muggy conditions are also expected to linger in some areas.

Cooler conditions will arrive Sunday, with temperatures dropping down near where they should be for this time of year.

Moisture is expected to return early next week, bringing chances for showers Tuesday through Thursday.

Los Angeles and Orange counties Saturday will see a high of 91 degrees and a low of 67. Temperatures drop to 88 Sunday and it could fall to the mid-80s Monday.

The valleys and Inland Empire Saturday can expect sunshine, with a high of 101 degrees and a low of 65. Temperatures are expected to drop to the mid-90s Sunday.

Beach communities will see a high of 81 degrees and a low of 68. Expect temperatures in the upper 70s Sunday.

Mountain communities Saturday will see gusty conditions, with a high of 81 degrees and a low of 49. Temperatures drop a couple of degrees Sunday.

Desert areas Saturday can expect sunny conditions, with a high of 98 degrees and a low of 67. Palm Springs is expected to reach 110 degrees.
