
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California is heating up as a dome of high pressure moves into the region.
Many areas are seeing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees warmer than average for this time of year.
Some areas are expected to see highs in the upper-80s and even low-90s throughout much of the week.
Then, an onshore flow returns heading into next weekend, bringing a cooldown with the return of marine layer clouds.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Sunday will see sunny skies, with a high of 82 degrees and a low of 61. Conditions will be similar the next few days, with temperatures cooling a few degrees by the end of the week.
The valleys and Inland Empire on Sunday can expect sunshine with a high of 87 and a low of 60 degrees. Highs are expected in the upper-80s all week until a cooldown arrives next weekend.
Beaches on Sunday will see a mixture of clouds and sunshine, with a high of 73 degrees and a low of 60.
Mountain communities can expect sunshine on Sunday, with a high of 72 degrees and a low of 36. Temperatures will continue to steadily climb through the week, reaching the low-80s by Wednesday.
The deserts will be sunny on Sunday, with a high of 91 degrees and a low of 57. Temperatures in Palm Springs are expected to reach 100 degrees.
