

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California will see another warm-up this week, bringing the return of above-average temperatures.
By Tuesday, a large area of high pressure will move into SoCal, causing temperatures to jump about 5 to 10 degrees by mid-week. High temperatures are expected to peak on Wednesday and Thursday.
The heat sticks around for a few days before a slight cooldown begins heading into the weekend.
Los Angeles and Orange counties on Tuesday will see sunshine with a high of 90 degrees and a low of 67. Temperatures will stay in the low-90s through the rest of the work week.
The valleys and Inland Empire can expect mostly sunny skies on Tuesday, with a high of 98 degrees and a low of 68. Temperatures will return to the triple digits by Wednesday.
Beach communities will see a mix of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine on Tuesday, with a high of 80 degrees and a low of 68.
Mountain communities on Tuesday will see mostly sunny skies with a high of 84 degrees and a low of 53. Thunderstorm chances return over the weekend.
Desert areas on Tuesday can expect a high of 101 degrees and a low of 73. Palm Springs is expected to reach 111 degrees. A 20% chance of thunderstorms enters the forecast on Friday and sticks around through the weekend.
