Westminster police launch homicide investigation after woman found dead at hotel

WESTMINSTER, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman in her 20s was found dead late Monday evening at a hotel in Westminster, prompting authorities to launch a homicide investigation.

Officers responded about 11 p.m. to a call of suspicious circumstances at a Quality Inn in the 6600 block of Westminster Boulevard, police said in a statement. The victim was found unresponsive in one of the rooms.

"Evidence at the scene suggests the female was the victim of a homicide," according to the news release from the Westminster Police Department. She was not immediately identified, pending notification of family.

The agency declined to release any additional information on Tuesday.
