Bellflower death investigation underway after husband wakes up to wife not breathing

BELLFLOWER, Calif. (KABC) -- Homicide detectives are investigating a 23-year-old woman's death that was reported by her husband in Bellflower.

The woman's husband called 911 for help shortly before 6:30 p.m. Monday, saying he and his wife had been out drinking and when he woke up, he realized she wasn't breathing, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Officers found the woman's body inside a bedroom at the couple's home in the 9500 block of Cedar Street, near Bellflower Boulevard.

An autopsy was pending to determine how the woman died.
