A high school football game at Los Angeles Southwest College in South L.A. was evacuated Friday night after reports of shots being fired.

LOS ANGELES (CNS) -- No evidence of a shooting was found after a high school football game at Los Angeles Southwest College was evacuated, authorities said Saturday.

An apparently false report of a shooting was made around 8:50 p.m. Friday, stopped the season opener between King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine and Science and San Pedro High School, according to Deputy Gabriela Robles of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

At least one person sustained a minor injury while people were dispersing from the area, the sheriff's department said. A woman was put into an ambulance. The nature of her injuries was unclear.

Personnel from the LASD and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and cleared the scene before midnight, according to the sheriff's department.

San Pedro led 21-6 when the game was halted during the third quarter. It was not immediately clear if the game will be completed at a later date.

The incident came on the same night that a 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting during a high school football game in Bakersfield.
