Indicted O.C. Sheriff back to work Monday

ORANGE COUNTY He'll return from a 60 day paid leave of absence he took in November to work on his own defense against federal corruption charges. Carona, his wife Deborah, and his alleged mistress have been indicted in a case alleging the sheriff took nearly $700,000 in bribes and kickbacks.

A department spokesman says Carona will continue to fulfill his duties as sheriff on a regular basis while Undersheriff Jo Ann Galisky oversees day-to-day operations of the department.
