May 20, 2008 6:31:27 AM PDT
Sheriff's deputies head to Death Valley Tuesday to see if there are undiscovered graves at a ranch that was once a Charles Manson family hideout. The National Park Service has closed the Barker Ranch to the public for the dig.

Charles Manson is serving a life sentence for the Tate-La Bianca murders in 1969.

A member of Manson's family has suggested there are more bodies buried at the ranch.

The Inyo County sheriff's department will investigate using new technology.

A prosecutor said if bodies are found, and they are tied to Manson, he could face the death penalty.
