Dad mourns murder: 'She was my life'

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. Cori disappeared early Sunday morning. She had been out Saturday night, last seen at the BAC Street Lounge in Redondo Beach. She reportedly left the bar around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Her body was found in a ravine just off Highway 330 in Running Springs. Detectives say a driver who had stopped to remove his tire chains found the body of a woman wrapped in a bag near mile-marker 38 at the 5,000-foot level.

Desmond's Jeep was found two blocks from the BAC Street Lounge by her father, Mark Desmond.

"She was a college graduate. She was beautiful. She was my life," said Mark Desmond. "She'll be missed by a lot of people."

"We know that she left by herself, by the video that we've reviewed," said Sgt. Tony Dececio, San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. "And then her vehicle was found two blocks away."

Police say there was blunt force trauma to the body, but are not disclosing the cause of death. There are no suspects or persons of interest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department at (800) 78-CRIME (800-782-7463).
