Families mourn loss after triple homicide

COMPTON, Calif. Police said they have very little information after the fatal shooting in the 1200 block of East Rosecrans Avenue in Compton shortly after 7 p.m.

No one has been arrested, and police do not have a suspect description to release to the public.

The shooting apparently happened at an apartment that is right next to a barber shop, killing two men and a woman. Police found the victims inside one of the small rear apartments, according to Lt. Patrick Nelson from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

Police are unsure why the three victims were targeted.

The victims' families remained on scene overnight, hoping to learn more about who did this.

"That was execution style. You didn't have to do that to Andrew, man. He would have gave you whatever it was. If you was robbing him, or you had beef with him, you could have settled it differently," said Brian Sawyers, an uncle of one of the victims.

Simeon Miller, the father of the female victim, said he believes his 25-year-old daughter was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He said his daughter had just started to cut hair at the location.

Miller said she was taking a break outside the barber shop and met with two childhood friends when all three of them were shot.

"I don't know any circumstances yet, and nothing more than nobody else knows," Miller said.

He also said he believes the two men killed did know the shooter, but did not know who that person might be or why they might have been shot.

"My cousin called me and told me my daughter was shot. Now whoever killed my baby, I hope they catch them. My baby was an innocent person," said the mother of one of the victims.

Anyone with information is urged to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department at (323) 890-5500.
