2 children injured after 3-car crash

BELLFLOWER, Calif. Deputies say three men were in an SUV stolen from Torrance that failed to stop at a sobriety checkpoint just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday in Long Beach.

They say the vehicle sped away down Artesia Boulevard, eventually triggering a three-car crash.

Officers say all three men then took off but they have all been caught.

"All three occupants fled the vehicle. One was detained immediately, a passenger, and as the result of our investigation, there's two other people being detained. One we believe was the driver," said Sgt. Christopher Neeper of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Two children, a six-year-old girl and nine-year-old boy were riding in one of those cars with their grandparents. They were taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
