According to a police report, Fredritz drove into three Toledo businesses within minutes of each other: Erie Foods, Butz Welding and Fabricating, and Andre's Lounge.
Andre's Lounge has been around 37 years and never had a break-in until Sunday when Fredritz allegedly slammed his stolen truck into the back of the building. Once inside, he broke into the cash register, but there was no money inside. So police say he went for the candy machines instead.
"Basically he got away with gum. That's about it...and M&M's," said the owner of Andre's Lounge, Doug Sfaelos.
Earlier, the burglar didn't get away with much either when he used a similar method to break into Butz Welding. "He grabbed a bunch of stupid things, which amount to height gauge, a small laptop, and our checkbook," said Reggie Butz.
Even though the burglar didn't get away with much, the business owners will now have to pay for repairs to their buildings. At Andre's Lounge, kitchen equipment will have to be replaced before it can reopen.
