Rainy weather continues across the Southland

LONG BEACH, Calif. Temperatures dropped sharply in Long Beach Tuesday. It was 40 degrees cooler than last Monday, when the heat wave hit Los Angeles. That was a record high for Long Beach for that day, 111 degrees.

Now the fall heat wave has given way to more winter-like weather this week.

L.A. and Orange counties got rain Tuesday. Those showers have been scattered and there's a chance for more in the Tuesday night's forecast.

For people visiting from other states the weather has dictated how they spend their vacation this week and last week.

"We just wanted to hang out inside with the air-conditioning, you know? 'Cause it was just super, super hot," said Deja Harrison, who is visiting from Boise, Idaho. "And then I was planning on spending most of the day just walking outside here, just walking around and exploring, but I stayed inside the aquarium most of the day just because I have a 5-month old."

Harbor cruise operators say business has been pretty slow Tuesday.

Keep that umbrella handy because there is rain in the forecast.
