Dance TV show choreographer convicted of rape

LOS ANGELES

Alex Da Silva, 43, faced allegations from four women who were either dancers or aspiring dancers.

A Los Angeles jury convicted Da Silva Friday of raping a 22-year-old woman in 2002 and also assaulting another woman with intent to commit rape in a 2009 case.

The jury was hung on four counts involving the other two alleged victims. Prosecutors have yet to decide whether to retry him.

Da Silva could face up to 14 years in prison. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 8.
