LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. (KABC) -- Fish and Wildlife officials responded to a La Canada Flintridge neighborhood after a bear was seen roaming around the area.
The wranglers, along with Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies, looked for the bear in the 4700 block of Hillard Avenue. The animal was spotted cooling off in a pool, and then it stepped out and wandered around in a backyard.
It eventually climbed halfway up a tree on Jarvis Avenue. Authorities decided to wait it out in an effort to push it east toward the ravine.
A game warden says it is a female black bear, about 200 pounds and around 3 years old.
