3.0-magnitude earthquake hits near Santa Barbara

CARPINTERIA, Calif (KABC) -- A small earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 hit near Santa Barbara on Friday night, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The temblor struck at 10:38 p.m. about 4 miles south of Carpinteria. It had a depth of 0.1 miles, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.
