Crash prompts lane closure on 710 Fwy in East LA
A semi-truck crashed on the 710 Freeway in East L.A., resulting in a fuel spill and the closure of all northbound lanes of the Long Beach Freeway.

EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A semi-truck crashed on the 710 Freeway in East Los Angeles on Friday morning, resulting in a fuel spill and the temporary closure of all northbound lanes of the Long Beach Freeway near the 60 Freeway, authorities said. All lanes were later reopened.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

California Highway Patrol officers poured sand on the spilled fuel and diverted northbound traffic onto the 60 Freeway.

The northbound No. 3 lane and the right shoulder were reopened shortly after 9 a.m. after Caltrans workers completed a cleanup operation.

The cause of the single-vehicle crash was unknown.
