Father carries son's ashes on on hike of Pacific Crest Trail
For Kathy Mcilvain and her husband Clark, the pain of their son's untimely death hurts them as much today as it did when Charles Mcilvain was killed when fire engulfed the dive boat Conception off of Channel Islands in 2019.For Kathy and Clark Mcilvain, the pain of their son's death hurts them as much today as it did when Charles was killed in the Conception boat fire.

The Conception boat fire was devastating for the many families of the victims. One father paid tribute to his son by carrying his ashes as he hiked the Pacific Crest Trail.

He and his wife spoke to Eyewitness News reporter Leo Stallworth.
