COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A 1-year-old girl killed after being shot in the face while inside her crib in Compton was identified as Autumn Johnson.
Autumn was in her crib inside a home in the 300 block of Holly Avenue near San Marcus Street when a male suspect exited a vehicle and opened fire at the garage, which was a converted apartment around 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Deputies said the male suspect jumped back inside the vehicle and his accomplice drove off. After Autumn was shot, her father rushed her to a nearby hospital where she later died.
The sheriff's department said it's looking for a blue, four-door, newer model Chevrolet Impala in connection with the shooting. Officials stated the shooting appeared to be gang related.
During a press conference on Wednesday, Compton Mayor Aja Brown announced a $25,000 reward will be approved by city council for information leading to the arrest of the suspect and his accomplice.
A GoFundMe account was set up for her and so far, nearly $600 has been raised. Her account can be accessed at gofundme.com/8kr3bc75.
