GARDENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A 67-year-old Long Beach man was arrested Saturday in connection to the murder of a man in Gardena.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives arrested Joseph Hector Duhon. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday at Torrance Municipal Courthouse.

On Wednesday, 44-year-old Venice resident James Scott was found shot to death in the 3300 block of Marine Avenue in an unincorporated part of Gardena.

Scott has just been released from jail for serving time for domestic violence.

A booking photo of Duhon was not released by authorities.

A candlelight vigil is expected to be held for Scott at 7 p.m. Saturday where he was shot on Marine Avenue.

An investigation is ongoing.
