LONDON (KABC) -- Heads up ladies: George Clooney is one step closer to being a married man. The actor and his fiance posted a legal notice declaring their intention to marry in Italy.

A spokesman at the register office at London's Chelsea Old Town Hall confirmed that the couple posted a legal document for a British national who is marrying abroad.

Clooney and Amal Alamuddin, a Beirut-born London lawyer, announced that they were engaged in April. A date for the wedding has not been released.

The document was on display for the requisite 21 days, and then taken down.
