LAKEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was killed while riding her bicycle in Lakewood after an alleged drunk driver crashed into her with his car.

At about 2 a.m. Sunday, the woman was riding across the street near the 11700 block of Del Amo Boulevard, when the driver -- heading westbound on Del Amo Boulevard -- struck and killed her on impact.

The driver then crashed into a telephone pole in the 11500 block of Del Amo Boulevard.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Emmanuel Camacho, was taken to a hospital and later arrested for driving under the influence.
