85-year-old woman with dementia goes missing

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police are asking for the public's help locating an 85-year-old woman who is missing from the city of Reseda.

Authorities say Mariya Gershenson was last seen in the 17000 block of Sherman Way on Monday. She only speaks and understands Russian and suffers from dementia.

Gershenson is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 pounds and has a thin build. Police say she was last seen wearing a gray hooded shirt or sweatshirt and carrying a black purse.

The family said Gershenson needs her daily medication. Anyone with information is urged to call the LAPD West Valley Division at (818) 374-7611.
