NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- A male suspect is in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in Newport Beach.

Officers set up a perimeter in the 4600 block of Seashore Drive around 9:45 p.m. Friday after someone called about shots fired in the area.

According to police, two officers spotted suspect Scott Abraham, 43, of Newport Beach, firing a single shot as he exited a residence. The two officers immediately shot him, police said.

Abraham was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The officers were not injured.
