WEST COVINA, Calif. (KABC) -- An officer was down in West Covina after shots were fired late Friday evening, according to authorities.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said shots were fired at about 11:20 p.m. near Sunset Avenue and Badillo Street.

West Covina police set up a containment area with the help of sheriff's deputies and the Baldwin Park Police Department.

Officials could not confirm suspect information or the condition of the officer.
