LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Dozens of people dressed in blue came out to rally in support of police officers in downtown Los Angeles Sunday.
Officers and their families gathered in front of the steps of City Hall to promote unity and support of law enforcement in L.A. and across the country.
At one point, a group of anti-police protesters showed up, sparking tension between the groups. Many who participated told Eyewitness News that Sunday's rally was not political. Many said they just came out to show their support for those who put their lives on the line to keep them safe.
"It's just a dangerous world out there and sleepless nights sometimes for myself and my children," said Lisa Lozano. "As a wife of an officer, I have to be supportive and be strong for my family."
At least one person was arrested for battery. Details on the battery arrest were not immediately available, but police said the incident did not involve a police officer.
