1 killed, 3 injured in street racing crash involving several cars in Norwalk

NORWALK, Calif. (KABC) -- One person was killed and three others were injured in a violent crash believed to be caused by street racing in Norwalk overnight.

The deadly incident happened shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday on Rosecrans Avenue, between Studebaker and Pioneer boulevards, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The department said some of those cars were racing at a high rate of speed just before the crash.

AIR7 was over the scene where at least four damaged cars were left scattered across the roadway. Some parked vehicles also appeared to have been hit. It's unclear exactly how many cars were racing and how many just happened to receive damage.

The condition of the people who were injured was unknown.
