

LOS ANGELES -- Arraignment has been delayed for a TikTok influencer who prosecutors say targeted her child's father, who is a pop singer.
The attorneys for all three defendants, the TikTok influencer, her father and her ex-boyfriend requested their arraignment and plea be pushed to September due to the need for more time.
Gabriela Gonzalez, along with her ex-boyfriend Kai Cordrey, waived their rights to a speedy arraignment in a Los Angeles, California courtroom Thursday, requesting their arraignment and plea be pushed to September.
The two, along with Gonzalez's father, are charged with multiple counts, including the attempted murder of Jack Avery, who Gonzalez shares a 7-year-old daughter with.
Avery is also a former member of the boy band Why Don't We.
Gonzalez's father, Francisco, was arrested in Florida and is expected to be extradited to Los Angeles.
Prosecutors asked the judge not to grant the request to delay the hearing in an effort to get the case moving.
Prosecutors allege the 2021 murder-for-hire plot stemmed from a years-long bitter child custody battle between Gabriela Gonzalez and Avery.
According to court documents, Los Angeles prosecutors say Gonzalez partnered with her ex, Cordrey, and her father to surveil the pop star. They allegedly discussed hiring a hitman to make the killing look like a deadly car crash. Prosecutors also say they discussed Bitcoin payments.
Documents also show witnesses told investigators that Gonzalez repeatedly said she wanted Avery dead, and her father helped pay for the alleged murder-for-hire plot.
According to prosecutors, the plot was ultimately foiled when they say Francisco Gonzalez spoke with a federal agent posing as the hitman, allegedly used the bull run code words and referenced Bitcoin payments.
The attorneys representing the defendants said there's too much discovery to go through in a short period of time to enter a plea.
The judge granted the request to push arraignment to Sept. 14 for all three defendants. Gabriella Gonzalez is out on bond and wearing a GPS monitor.
