Deadly crash shuts down northbound lanes of 101 Freeway in Sherman Oaks

SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Several northbound lanes of the 101 Freeway were shut down in the Sherman Oaks area following a deadly crash Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported around 4 a.m. near the 405 Freeway. It appears only one vehicle was involved.

AIR7 was over the scene where the car was wedged on the center divider. Debris could be scattered across freeway lanes

Details about the person who died or what led up to the crash were not available.

Crews slowly reopened lanes to drivers through the morning. The freeway was fully reopened shortly before noon.
