Evacuation warnings issued for brush fire near Palmdale

PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- Crews are responding Monday afternoon to a brush fire near Palmdale that has grown to 200 acres, according to authorities. Evacuation warnings have been issued.

The blaze, dubbed the Jarvis Fire, was reported in the area of West Avenue G and 85th Street West in Antelope Acres.

Incident Command initially said the fire was estimated at 30 to 50 acres with a moderate rate of spread. It quickly grew within an hour.

An evacuation warning has been issued for zones LAN-E001 and LAC-E1639, according to the Genasys Evacuation Map.

No additional information was immediately available. The response to the fire remained ongoing.
